From Johannesburg to Mozambique: more than two decades producing natural foods in Southern Africa.
Our Roots: Johannesburg
Hasber Group was founded in 2004 in Johannesburg, South Africa, where the founders identified a clear opportunity: growing demand for natural, minimally processed foods in an expanding South African market. Starting with a small warehouse and a compact team, the company began by importing and distributing coconut-based products to local retailers.
It was in Johannesburg that the company built its first customer network and learned, first-hand, the quality standards a competitive market demands — a foundation that would shape the whole culture of Hasber Group in the years that followed.
The Move to Mozambique
As demand grew, the founders realised that guaranteeing quality and direct control over raw materials meant moving closer to the source of the coconut. Mozambique, with its long coastline and tradition of coconut production, became the natural destination. A few years after it was founded, Hasber Group established processing operations in Maputo.
That transition marked the beginning of a new phase: Mozambique was no longer just a source of raw material, but the headquarters of Hasber Group — a position it still holds today in Chamanculo, Maputo.
Growth and Diversification
From Mozambique, Hasber Group gradually expanded its portfolio beyond coconut: cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil and argan oil, dried fruit, chocolates and chocolate-coated fruit, and a range of natural snacks sold in convenient packs. This diversification allowed the company to build lasting commercial relationships across several countries in the region.

Today, Hasber Group is an established company in the natural foods sector, based in Chamanculo, Maputo, with roots going back to Johannesburg in 2004. We keep alive the same philosophy that guided our founders: quality at every stage, respect for the natural origin of our products, and a genuine commitment to the customers and partners who trust the Hasber Group name across the region.
